Swede and Marilyn,

By pure chance, I happen to have just finished looking through a microfilm
from the National Archives (Series T-81, Roll 354) which contains
correspondence of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Deutschen aus Russland und
Polen relating to people who emigrated from (mostly) Prussia to Brazil in
the 1930s.  Mentioned briefly in a couple of them is the family of Ewald
Kisser (his wife, Emma, and two children, Ursula and Alfred), and his
brother, Franz, who had arrived in Sao Paolo in 1935.  It seems that Ewald
wanted to emigrate and had paid a fee for some kind of "special approval" or
"authorization" (Sondergenehmigung).  Let me know if these names interest
you.

For any others with connections to Brazil, this roll and the preceding roll
(353) contain such correspondence for people with surnames beginning with A
through E.  The rest of this correspondence was not microfilmed (I don't
know why), and I have so far been unable to find out if it still exists
anywhere.  I have compiled a list of names appearing in these letters, and
will send them to Dale Wahl, who will post them somewhere or other, possibly
on Pixel.  The microfilms, I believe, are to be kept by the GRHS.  If I can
help anyone with names from A to E, please let me know.
