I am glad to see that you have contacted the list serve as I suggested.
For the readers of this list serve Bertha Geske is my grandfather Gustaf's
sister. I was the one who submitted the Geske information to the data base.
I have not had time to persue the research. We are both interested in the
Geske/Jeske research. My grandfather Gustaf said he was born in Posen. Dick
Benert's1992 AHSGR article places him in Nova Rudnia(sp?) in 1911 when he left.
He was a black-smith/farmer. We have little information on the Kruegers(K|gers)
except that Anna Kruger who married Christof has a sister who married
Lamprecht. ( may have been from Prussia). Her relatives live in Edmonton
Alberta Ca. some in germany, some in the USA.
My grandmother Hulda Beier b. 1893 (married to Gustaf Geske) was born to
Gotlieb Beier b. 1858 and Elizabeth Vogt b.1852(some translate it from the
Russian Birth Cer as Foght) in or near Pulin. One of her sisters Amanda married
Fredirch Domke. Their decendants live in Calgary Alberta Ca. From the EWZ I
find the Beiers come from Lublin. So some time between 1858 and 1893 they moved
to Volhynia.
