Hi Karl,
> I have a letter from the Archiwum Panstwowe of Koszalinie , that I

>The letter is about the birth of Bernhard Haack, and his wife Bertha
> Albertina Devonske in Koszalin in 1840.
Go to the URL:
http://www.genealogienetz.de/misc/translation.html
and follow the instructions for submitting your letter for translation. In
your case, you would start an email to the translation service with the
text: #POL>ENG. That will flag it for the server to route your request
to someone who translates Polish text into English. The service is
run by volunteers and is free of cost.
Just a quick guess, if you don't see any dates in your letter, it is
probably referring you to the Central Archives in Warsaw. All records
over 100 years old are transferred from the regional archives to the
Central Archives when they reach that 100 year mark. The Central
Archives are called Archiwum Glowne Akt Dawnich. If that phrase
also appears in your letter, I'd be willing to bet that that's what they're
doing. Good luck!
-Paul
