Before Joining

Getting the New Member Application Form
The completed application form (download from link below) and annual membership dues should be mailed to the address at the bottom of the form. Please allow 3-4 weeks for the postal system and for processing.
NOTES:
1. If you live outside the United States or Canada, please help SGGEE avoid high banking costs by submitting your dues in the form of a bank money order in US dollars instead of a personal cheque/ check.
2. Memberships are considered current only during the calendar year in which they are received, and apply to the period January through December. Dues are not prorated, so when they are received between January through September, membership renewal is required for the forthcoming calendar year. New memberships received in October through December, however, will be applied to the forthcoming year(s)
The rationale on which this policy is based is as follows. Regardless of the time of year a membership is received, all the benefits, resources, research aids, databases and newsletters published to date by SGGEE are available immediately to the new member on the SGGEE web site. In other words, there is no "penalty" for becoming a member of SGGEE late in the calendar year rather than early.

After you have completed the membership application form, send it in with your dues via regular mail. Once you have been notified that your membership is approved, you can proceed to getting your password.
Getting Your Password
Go to the Members’ signup page, and select a username and password for yourself. This information will allow you to access the members-only areas of the site, once your information is verified. The verification process can take 24 hours or longer, so please be patient. If you run into trouble, please contact us: membership@sggee.org
Recovering a Lost Password
If you are an existing member and have forgotten your username and/or password, enter your email address in the blank below. If your address is on file, your username and password will be sent to you.
Once You Have Become a Member
Once you become a member, we hope that you will share your pedigree or family group data with us for including in our Master Pedigree Database. Due to the complexity of merging new data into our huge database, we have found it necessary to develop Submission Standards (pdf). Please comply with these Standards before submitting any data. Renewing Your Membership
If it is time for you to renew, please complete the renewal form and send it to the address on the form. Same fees as noted above for new members. Membership renewal form (pdf format).
